The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father in Heaven (22nd Wednesday - Questions 100-104)

May 28, 2025

In a world filled with uncertainty, many struggle to know where to place their trust. Jesus teaches us to pray, 'Our Father in heaven,' reminding us that we are not alone—God is our Father, and He cares for us.

The catechism explains that calling God 'Father' means we are adopted into His family through Christ (Romans 8:15-17). He loves, provides, and disciplines us as His children (Matthew 6:25-33; Hebrews 12:7-11). Praying to 'Our Father' also reminds us that faith is communal—we pray as members of the body of Christ, not in isolation.

If you struggle with feeling distant from God, reflect on the truth that He has made you His child through Christ. Explore questions 100-104 in the catechism to grow in your understanding of God’s fatherly care.
  • Trust in God’s provision and care, knowing that He is your Father.
  • Pray with confidence, remembering that you are part of His family.

Transform Our Heart Through Prayer
Father, thank You for adopting me as Your child. Help me to trust in Your care and seek You in prayer daily. Amen.
