The Judgment and the World to Come (21st Wednesday - Questions 92-99)

People often avoid thinking about judgment, preferring to focus on the present. Yet, Scripture teaches that all will stand before God to give an account of their lives. For those in Christ, this is not a cause for fear but for hope.

The catechism teaches that Jesus will come again to judge the living and the dead (2 Corinthians 5:10; Matthew 25:31-34). The righteous, justified by faith in Christ, will enter into eternal joy, while those who reject Him will face eternal separation from God (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15). This truth calls us to live with holy urgency, seeking to honor God in all we do (2 Peter 3:10-13).

If you wrestle with fear or uncertainty about the future, rest in the assurance that Christ is both Savior and Judge. Explore questions 92-99 in the catechism to understand what Scripture teaches about the final judgment and the world to come.
  • Live in readiness for Christ’s return, seeking to honor Him in all you do.
  • Share the gospel boldly, inviting others to know the hope of salvation.

Transform Our Heart Through Prayer

Lord, help me to live in readiness for Your return. Keep my heart steadfast in faith, and let my life reflect Your truth and love. Amen.
