Tuesday of Easter Week 3 – Devotion

Text: Psalm 33:1–8

It’s easy to feel small in a chaotic world. We watch nations clash, creation groan, and institutions wobble. What difference can one person’s faith make? Does our trust in God really matter in the face of such vast uncertainty?

Psalm 33 reminds us that God is no regional deity. He is Creator. “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made… for he spoke, and it came to be” (vv. 6, 9). This is a deliberate echo of Genesis 1—where God brings order out of chaos with just a word. The psalmist invites us to praise this majestic Lord, not out of obligation, but with joy. Why? Because the same God who made the stars also watches over nations and peoples. He is both transcendent and intimately involved.

When we worship, we align ourselves with the deepest reality of the universe: that God reigns, and we are not alone. That means your voice matters. Your prayer matters. Your trust in God amid the noise is an act of rebellion against fear and despair.
So, lift your eyes. Look at the stars and remember who made them. Then bring your smallness into His bigness. Choose joy even when you don’t feel it. Read Psalm 33 aloud this week. Let it become the soundtrack of your faith—louder than the news, deeper than your fears.

Transform Our Hearts Through Prayer
Creator God, You spoke and the heavens came to be. Speak now into our hearts. Quiet our fears and renew our joy. Remind us that our praise joins with the music of the stars. Holy Spirit, help us trust that Your rule is sure, and that You see us even in our smallness. Amen.
