Thursday of Easter Week 4 – Devotion

Text: Revelation 7:9–17

We all long for a place to belong—a community where we are known and loved. In a world marked by division and exclusion, it’s easy to feel isolated, even in a crowd. But the vision in Revelation 7 shows us a different kind of future—one where every tear is wiped away.

John sees a great multitude that no one could count, “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages,” standing before the throne of God and the Lamb (v. 9). They are clothed in white, symbols of purity and victory, holding palm branches, signs of celebration. These are the redeemed, made clean not by effort, but by the blood of the Lamb. And the promise for them—and for us—is breathtaking: no more hunger, no more thirst, no scorching heat. The Lamb Himself will be their Shepherd.

This isn’t just a distant future. It’s a glimpse of what the church is meant to be now—a diverse, unified people gathered around Jesus. In a fractured world, the church should be a foretaste of this Revelation vision.

So don’t give up on the church. Press into community. Love across difference. Invite others into the circle. And when you feel like you don’t belong, remember: the Lamb has made a place for you. The Shepherd is also your Savior.

Transform Our Hearts Through Prayer
Lamb of God, You have washed us and welcomed us. Thank You for making a place for us in Your people. Forgive our divisions and help us love one another well. Holy Spirit, make our churches signs of Your coming kingdom—united, joyful, and full of hope. Amen.
