Tuesday of Easter Week 4 – Devotion

Text: Psalm 100

Do you ever feel like your faith is dull—like joy is missing, and worship feels like a chore? Life’s pressures often drain us, and God can feel far away. But Psalm 100 gives us a roadmap back to joy.

This short psalm is an explosion of praise. It commands all the earth to make a joyful noise, to serve the Lord with gladness, to come into His presence with singing. Why? “Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his… his people, the sheep of his pasture” (v. 3). The psalm doesn’t start with feelings—it starts with truth. And that truth leads to joy. God is God, and we are His. His steadfast love and faithfulness never end.
Psalm 100 doesn’t ignore suffering or hardship, but it points us toward gratitude and belonging. When we remember who God is and who we are in Him, worship becomes not just a duty, but a delight.

This week, fight spiritual numbness by practicing gratitude. Begin and end each day naming three things you’re thankful for. Read Psalm 100 aloud. Sing—yes, even if it feels awkward. Rehearse who God is. Remind your soul that you belong to Him, and joy will begin to stir again.

Transform Our Hearts Through Prayer
Faithful God, You are good, and Your love endures forever. Forgive us when we forget who we are and whose we are. Teach us to worship You with gladness. Holy Spirit, stir joy in our hearts and help us to praise You—not only when we feel like it, but because You are worthy. Amen.
