Membership

Why Membership Matters
At Prince of Peace Anglican Church, we believe that following Jesus is not something we do alone—it’s something we live out in community. Church membership is more than having your name on a list; it’s a joyful commitment to belong, to grow, and to share life together as the family of God. Membership helps root us in worship, accountability, generosity, and service. It says, “This is my spiritual home, and I want to walk with Christ alongside these people.”

The path to membership is simple and intentional: it begins with baptism into Christ, continues with growing in faith through worship and participation in the life of the church, and is strengthened by confirmation, generosity, and covenant commitment. Each step is an invitation to deeper life in Christ and closer fellowship with His people.

Baptism

Baptism is how God marks us as His own. It’s not just a symbol—it’s a gift of grace where God brings us into His family. To join a church as a member, we first need to belong to Christ. Baptism reminds us that we didn’t earn our way in—God welcomed us through Jesus.

Community

Christianity isn’t a solo project. You were made to worship with others, pray with others, and live out faith in community. Being present with your church family is how you grow and how you help others grow too. If you’re not involved, you’re missing out on one of the biggest ways God strengthens and encourages you.

Confirmation

Confirmation is saying a strong “yes” to the promises God made at your baptism. It’s the church praying for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit so you can live boldly as a Christian in the world. It’s like moving from being carried in faith to walking with confidence, equipped and strengthened for life with Christ.

Kingdom Partnership

Money is one of the best tests of what we really trust. When we give, we’re saying, “Lord, everything I have is from you, and I trust you to take care of me.” Generosity isn’t God trying to take something from you—it’s His way of setting you free from anxiety and greed, and helping you join in His work of blessing others.

The Membership Covenant

A covenant is more than paperwork—it’s a promise. It’s saying, “This is my church family. I’m committed to them, and they’re committed to me.” That kind of belonging brings real security. You’re not drifting; you’re rooted in a spiritual home where you’ll be known, supported, and sent out to serve Christ in the world. If you have further questions about membership please reach out to discuss with a pastor.

God has called me, chosen me, redeemed me, sanctified me, and blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father. I believe in the name of Jesus, have accepted Him as my Savior, submitted my life to Him as  Lord and become a child of God,

I have repented of my sins and have been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Thereby, I have been baptized by the Spirit into the one Body of Christ and empowered for ministry and mission. I have had my life in Christ confirmed and strengthened through the laying on of a bishop’s hands (confirmation).

I have read the Jerusalem Declaration and agree with its teaching. (A link to the Declaration with explanation is available at the bottom of this page.)

In response to what the Lord has done for me, I commit myself (to the best of my ability) to the following pattern of life:
  • I will seek daily to abide in Christ through personal disciplines such as prayer, Bible reading, fasting, solitude, etc.
  • I will seek to grow always in the “grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” through weekly worship and faithful participation in a small group.
  • I will offer deliberately my Spirit-empowered gifts for the building up of the Body of Christ.
  • I will give generously and cheerfully to the work of the kingdom.
  • I will choose to believe the best of my brothers and sisters in Christ, offering them the same charitable assumption I hope to receive from them.
  • I will “proclaim the excellencies of Him who called [me] out of darkness into His marvelous light,” knowing that the Spirit empowers me as a witness, and Christ  declares His people to be the light of the world.

This commitment is the basis of my active involvement in the life, ministry and mission of Prince of Peace Anglican Church. When I fall short, I invite the loving admonition and caring correction of the members of the Body.
