Membership

Why Membership Matters
At Prince of Peace Anglican Church, we believe that following Jesus is not something we do alone—it’s something we live out in community. Church membership is more than having your name on a list; it’s a joyful commitment to belong, to grow, and to share life together as the family of God. Membership helps root us in worship, accountability, generosity, and service. It says, “This is my spiritual home, and I want to walk with Christ alongside these people.”

The path to membership is simple and intentional: it begins with baptism into Christ, continues with growing in faith through worship and participation in the life of the church, and is strengthened by confirmation, generosity, and covenant commitment. Each step is an invitation to deeper life in Christ and closer fellowship with His people.

Baptism

Baptism is how God marks us as His own. It’s not just a symbol—it’s a gift of grace where God brings us into His family. To join a church as a member, we first need to belong to Christ. Baptism reminds us that we didn’t earn our way in—God welcomed us through Jesus.

Community

Christianity isn’t a solo project. You were made to worship with others, pray with others, and live out faith in community. Being present with your church family is how you grow and how you help others grow too. If you’re not involved, you’re missing out on one of the biggest ways God strengthens and encourages you.

Confirmation

Confirmation is saying a strong “yes” to the promises God made at your baptism. It’s the church praying for you to be filled with the Holy Spirit so you can live boldly as a Christian in the world. It’s like moving from being carried in faith to walking with confidence, equipped and strengthened for life with Christ.

Kingdom Partnership

Money is one of the best tests of what we really trust. When we give, we’re saying, “Lord, everything I have is from you, and I trust you to take care of me.” Generosity isn’t God trying to take something from you—it’s His way of setting you free from anxiety and greed, and helping you join in His work of blessing others.

The Membership Covenant

A covenant is more than paperwork—it’s a promise. It’s saying, “This is my church family. I’m committed to them, and they’re committed to me.” That kind of belonging brings real security. You’re not drifting; you’re rooted in a spiritual home where you’ll be known, supported, and sent out to serve Christ in the world. If you have further questions about membership please reach out to discuss with a pastor.

By God’s grace, I have been called, chosen, redeemed, and made new in Christ. I belong to Him as His beloved child, forgiven and set apart, blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

I have turned from my sins and been baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. By the Spirit I have been joined to the one Body of Christ and empowered for ministry and mission. I have been confirmed in faith through the laying on of hands, strengthened to walk with Christ and serve His Church.

I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord, and I joyfully affirm the Jerusalem Declaration as a faithful summary of the Christian faith.
In response to God’s great love for me, I commit, with His help, to live as a faithful member of Prince of Peace Anglican Church:
  • Abide in Christ daily – through prayer, Scripture, and practices that deepen my walk with Him.
  • Grow in grace and fellowship – by gathering for weekly worship and sharing life in community with others.
  • Use my gifts for Christ’s body – offering my Spirit-given abilities to build up the Church.
  • Give generously and joyfully – supporting the ministry and mission of God’s kingdom.
  • Love my brothers and sisters – choosing to believe the best, extend grace, and walk together in unity.
  • Bear witness to Jesus – proclaiming His goodness and light in word and deed, at home, at work, and in the world.

This covenant expresses my desire to take an active part in the life, mission, and ministry of Prince of Peace Anglican Church. When I fall short, I welcome the encouragement, correction, and care of my brothers and sisters, trusting that together we will grow into the likeness of Christ.
