Beliefs

Prince of Peace believes in the classic, orthodox understanding of God as revealed by the Holy Scriptures: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We hold the Holy Scriptures to be God's revealed Word, the ultimate standard of truth by which all other teaching must be evaluated (2 Timothy 3:16).

We believe that Jesus is the only begotten, eternal Son of God, Who was crucified for our sins, and raised for our justification (Romans 4:25). With Paul, we proclaim that Jesus is Lord (2 Corinthians 4:5), and with John that He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).

We believe that, in accordance with the promises of God, when a person believes that Jesus is Lord, he or she is given the gift of the Holy Spirit for salvation (Ephesians 1:13). In addition, we believe that each believer is given spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit so that each believer can effectively advance the Kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 12).

We believe that salvation is by God's grace, through faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9); and that God Himself has prepared good works for us to do (Ephesians 2:10, James 2:17).

We believe that God is building a family of all believers, and that those who belong to Jesus also belong in His church (Ephesians 2:19).

We believe that we are called to love God (Deuteronomy 6:5), love one another (Leviticus 19:18), and joyfully extend His eternal Kingdom (Isaiah 49:6, Matthew 28:19), giving generously of our time, talent, and treasure in His service (Matthew 6:21, Luke 6:38).

We believe that God may be calling YOU to join us in serving Him!
